The two company’s have come together to bring connectivity from an iPhone to a vehicle. The car was announced on the 22nd of April at the Shanghai Motor Show. The iBeetle comes with a docking station that sits on the dash, for the Phone. The iPhone then integrates with the audio and navigation systems of the car. What’s different about the Volkswagen iBeetle?
Fans out there may be thinking, how is this any different from connecting any phone to a car via a bluetooth app. There is a special app for the Volkswagen that will allow the Phone to integrate with different services in the vehicle too. The expert area allows you to view specific information about the vehicle, like the coolant temperatures, the oil and also a compass. The training section of the app allows you to compare distances and driving times. There are even more fun features, Reader lists Facebook messages and then reads them out and Photo can send Photos that were taken in the vehicle to friends.
The app also includes itunes and Spotify integration so that car owners can listen to friends music as well as their own. Obviously, calls can be made with the phone aswell. It integreates with the car’s microphone and audio system.
For all the technological, Volkswagen and all things iPhone fans out there, the iBeetle could be the perfect vehicle for you.
