The BMW Z2

The BMW Z2

The BMW Z2 will be a similar size to the Z3 model and will be getting petrol or diesel power.

A small roadster designed to sit below the BMW Z4 has been on the company wish list for a while

A small BMW roadster that is designed to sit below the Z4 model has been on the wish list of the company for quite a while, though not until now has the BMW Z2 project made sense financially.

The modular UKL1 front wheel drive platform from the company, which will debut later this year in the new MINI, opens up a whole World of opportunties. Spreading the development burden across the BMW and MINI companies, means that there is a model explosion on the way. The first front wheel drive for BMW to arrive will be a five seater Concept Active Tourer, which is set to rival the B-Class from Mercedes later on in 2014. There will be a seven seat version to follow, whilst the next 1 Series family will be completely front wheel drive. The next X1 and a three door small coupé Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), the X2 will also be using the same foundations.

The most exciting proposition is the X2 front wheel drive, which will be a similar size to the old BMW Z3 and will use turbocharged three cylinder 1.5 litre and four cylinder 2.0 litre versions of the new modular petrol and diesel engines from BMW. The top specification petrol 2.0 litre car could produce up to 300 brake horsepower, with the three cylinder cleanest emitting way under 100g of Co2.

The best part of this BMW model is its price

The best part of this model is it’s price, a sports car from the luxury car maker, which has a starting price of just above £20,000, sounds extremely tempting.
