Flip Flops are the most dangerous driving shoe

Flip Flops are the most dangerous driving shoe

Driving in flip flops is actually more dangerous than driving in heels, the rather flimsy footwear is responsible for around 1.4 million car crashes or near misses every year. A recent study by a car insurance company revealed 1/3 of motorists wear flip flops whilst driving A recent study that was commissioned by a car insurance company revealed that 1/3 of motorists wear this rather unsupportive shoe whilst they are driving, which made flip flops top the poll of the top five summer footwear that people in Britain struggle to drive in. Around 51% of drivers that took part in the survey admitted that they struggle to drive if they are wearing flip flops, whilst 49% said that they found it especially difficult to drive in bare feet. Driving in bare feet is not actually illegal, though it means that if you are not in proper control of your motor vehicle, then you should still be looking at police action. Coming third, 38% of people who responded to the survey said that they had had difficulty using the pedals if they were wearing wedge heels, whilst 1/4 said that espadrilles, or other such canvas shoes, also caused problems with their control of a vehicle. Rounding off the top five worst types of footwear to wear whilst driving were sandals, with 18% of people admitting that the show had caused them some difficulty when they were trying to control a car. According to the study, flip flops impair the movement between the accelerator and brake pedal by 0.1 seconds, although this sounds like a really small fraction of time, that...

There will be a seven seat version to follow, whilst the next 1 Series family will be completely front wheel drive. The next X1 and a three door small coupé Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), the X2 will also be using the same foundations. The next seven Jaguar models unleashed

The next seven Jaguar models unleashed

The SUV from the company, Jaguar’s answer to the Evoque from Range Rover has been officially confirmed for production in 2016. The SUV, which will have a starting price of £31,000, is one of six new models that will be launched by Jaguar within the next few years. The ambitious growth targets from the company also include plans to look into a front wheel drive car for segments for smaller vehicles. Here is the new model strategy from Jaguar, car by car. 2014 The Jaguar F-Type Coupe This model is rumoured to be cheaper than the drop top and to be the definitive Jaguar F-Type model. Some sources have suggested that it is lighter than the roadster, impressively so and is around a 1/3 stiffer. There have been hints that the chassis for the vehicle would see a number of changes to the hardware. The drop top is rumoured to be shifting around 1,000 units every month, so the coupe could add atleast another 500 to this figure. 2015 The Jaguar Q-Type Saloon This model is said to be a little bit of a gamble for the company due to it investing quite heavily in a brand new PLA platform. It is expected to be rather compact and is aimed to directly rival the BMW 3 Series. The car is set to be priced from £28,000 and most versions will be getting a lightweight and super frugal engine. 2016 The Jaguar XQ Crossover This model is based on the same PLA aluminium platform as the saloon model. The Nissan GT-R Nismo 0-60 in 2 seconds

The Nissan GT-R Nismo 0-60 in 2 seconds

The Nissan GT-R Nismo is set to be the fastest ever accelerating car, allegedly covering 0-60 miles per hour in just two seconds. Nissan is due to launch the fastest ever accelerating production car ever when it unleashes the GT-R Nismo in November at the Tokyo Motor Show. According to an insider that spoke at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, the new model will cover 0-60 miles per hour in a flabbergasting 2 seconds. That will actually make it faster than hypercars that are worth over 1,000,000 such as the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, along withlightweight models like the Ariel Atom V8. The unbelievable speed will partly be due to a boost in power for the twin turbo V6, though the kerbweight of the model is also expected to be slightly lower. The Nismo model is being developed along with the help of Williams Advanced Engineering, a British Company that also helped to create the Nissan Juke Nismo. A spokesperson from Williams Advanced Engineering said, it would surprise people at how much room for improvement there still is, even with a car such as this one. Though you would expect it to be all tuned to the maximum, it is actually very easy to make bigger gains. As with other Nismo models, the GT-R will be getting a range of sporty style upgrades, these are likely to include plenty of red detailing, a lot of carbon fibre trim and a much more aggressive exhaust system. Nissan have given no indication to what the model is going to cost Nissan have given no indications as of yet as...

The replacement for the Honda NSX supercar is due for 2015

The replacement for the Honda NSX supercar is due for 2015. The Honda NSX will be returning in 2015 as a V6 petrol-electric hybrid four wheel drive supercar. Honda has working prototypes already of the new NSX model, which are badged with Honda’s upmarket United States Acura branding. Ted Klaus, who is the chief engineer of Honda R & D, when talking about the new supercar said, with leadership from the manufacturing and R & D teams here in Ohio, the company is developing a next generation sports car that will be as equally at home on the street as on the race track, so it is natural to demonstrate the prototype vehicle in Ohio. He went on to say that it is exciting for the company to see the prototype running on the track, reflecting the huge progress that has been made towards the 2015 global launch of the NSX model, as we engineers a new experience for customers globally. The NSX model will be powered by a direct injection V6 mid mounted petrol engine that has been possibly copied from the 90 degree V6 it is building for it’s return to Formul 1, also in 2015. It is also likely to carry the EarthDreams badging. The front axle of the model features two electric motors which can be used for vectoring torque to sharpen handling and to form part of Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system that is fitted to the new car as standard. The rear axle of the Honda is driven by the V6 petrol engine, this is boosted by a third electric motor The rear...

Citroen is set to launch a simple C Line brand

The first of the C-Line cars from Citroen will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, according to sources from the company. The C-Line models will mark an innovation for Citroen in re branding itself as a Value Brand that will be pitched at customers who seek a balance between functionality and cost and will also offer simplicity. The first Citroen C Line model will feature extremely bold styling The first Citroen C Line model, which is expected to replace the ageing C3 supermini model, will feature extremely bold styling, though it will also be inspired by the simplicity of the Lacoste concept from 2010. Sources have recently said that the C-line look is also expected to be rolled out across the remainder of the Citroen range as quickly as is possible. Frederic Banzet, who is the CEO of Citroen, last year described the C line as competitively prices, rather than a rival for Dacia, the budget brand. Manufacturing costs will also be kept down due to the reduction of the trim and drivetrain options offered. C-Line buyers will also have the option of customising their C Line model with options like the large upgraded touchscreen sound system. A lot of these options could be fitted by dealer, which reduces costs further for Citroen along with delivery times. Banzet has also said that the arrival of this C Line model would be the last piece in the puzzle of repositioning PSA’s three brands. Peugeot will also be competing against Volkswagen in the mainstream premium market, whilst Citroen will slot in right between Dacia and other brands like...
