Toyota face 800,000 vehicle recall due to spiders setting up home

There have been a number of recalls this year, usually based on a potential fault within a particular vehicle, though the most recent recall for Toyota, of over 800,000 vehicles, has spiders to blame. Spiders have set up home in the tubes and air conditioning units of some Toyota vehicles Though this may sound like a premature haloween joke, the spiders have actually been spinning webs and setting up home in the cars tubes and air conditioning units, causing a whole host of problems for the manufacturer and the customers of their cars. The public affairs manager of Toyota, Cindy Knight said that spiders have been implicated with the condition of the vehicles, although it is an extremely rare occurence, spiders can get inside the air conditioning drainage tubes and build their nests. The nests were blocking drainage from the car tubes, which could then lead to leaks. In some cases the leaks would actually drain on top of the vehicles airbag control units, which could cause airbag and electrical short circuit malfunctions. The recall was announced by Toyota last Thursday. A spider watcher actually said that it is easy to see why a spider would choose to inhabit such a place, it is warm under a car, aswell as being dark and damp. It is perfect. Two people had actually sustained minor injuries, as was described by Toyota when airbags didn’t deploy due to this problem, which has affected some 2012 and 2013, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry Camry Hybrid and Venza. Malfunctions relating to vehicle’s airbags have caused increasing problems to manufacturers throughout this year. They have issued...

Anger at £100 “unnecessary” parking ticket

A quick 15 minute shopping trip ended in a fine of £100 for a woman in Kidderminster who received a parking ticket for having the back wheel of her car, a little over the parking bay. The Kidderminster woman was appalled to find the parking ticket The woman said she was absolutely appalled to find the parking ticket stuck to the back window of her Saab after a brief visit to Kidderminster’s Crossley Retail Park last week. She  explained that the back wheel of her car had only been over the white line by around a inch and she did not feel that a penalty was warranted whatsoever. The woman explained that she had quickly popped into the Retail Park Curry’s to collect something for her television and she was only actually in the store for 15 minutes. She said that when she came out into the carpark I had a parking ticket on my car because my wheel was parked about an inch over the line. She went on to say that she was absolutely disgusted and appalled. She said that if she had overstayed the two hours that she had paid for then she would fully understand but the wheel being over the line is just ridiculous. She also asked the question what if she was forced to park like that because the other driver didn’t leave enough space. She said that issuing parking fines for reasons such as this would put people off shopping at the Retail park. The Retail Park has parking for up to two hours at a time, for when the town wanted...

The car will be more practical and a little bigger version of the Peugeot 107, which it will be replacing next year. Under the new naming strategy from the company, the models that end with an 8 have been designed to be a more premium vehicle and looking at the proportions of the prototype, the 108 model is looking to be just that. Though on the spy pictures every panel of the Peugeot 108 has been hidden with extremely heavy camouflage, it is still clear to see the very noticeable changed to the agile City Vehicle. The front rounded end of the car is in keeping with the new image from the company and the styling looks like it is to be a scaled down version of the Peugeot 308 hatchback. The wheels on the Peugeot 108 are  a lot closer to the corners of the vehicle, which indicates that the wheelbase has been extended. This also means that there is likely to be improved space on the interior of the vehicle, with more swifter handling. If you look at the rear of the new model, it has the same sort of boxy stance as the Volkswagen up, though without the squared off windows, thanks to more alluring rising lines on the vehicle....
